Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

Earlier in the week, I was having lunch with a colleague and dear friend to talk about our work and lives. At one point, I distinctly remember saying to her, “Why doesn’t adulting come with a handbook?”. We both had a good laugh about how that could be my next blog post.
I’m in one of those phases right now where I feel like a leaf being blown around by the wind. It feels like I’m walking a knife’s edge between success and failure, and that much of it is out of my control. It’s not a fun way to feel.
One of the greatest gifts my massage and meditation practices have given me in the past two years is the ability to pause in the middle of my brain’s narrative that these will finally be the setbacks that break me. I can look back at the past two years and see that the times when everything seems the most dangerously out of control are the times when I have the best opportunities for personal growth. When I choose to believe in myself and listen to my inner self-confidence, these times have lead me to take the boldest steps forward.
I’m ready to embrace that boldness again. I’m ready to get that fire back, and bring new life to my practice. First up? A visceral manipulation class next month. Big things are coming, and I feel fired up!
My readers of a certain age might have caught that the title of this post is a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reference.
